I was tempted, when I sat down to write this message, to simply write the words VOTE BLUE in the largest font available and call it a day. That is, after all, the big takeaway here: voting Democratic in this November’s election is critically important. The damage that has been done in less than four years to our democratic institutions and norms, our economy, and our standing as a world leader, is stunning. And that is all aside from the 200,000 lives and counting lost to a badly mismanaged pandemic.
So, yes, VOTE BLUE seems an obvious message.
But this election is unusual in other ways as well. We are still in the midst of a global pandemic. Many people are uneasy about standing in line to cast a ballot. We are also in the midst of an epidemic of misinformation, leaving others concerned that their absentee ballots will not be counted. So here are some things to know and some things to do about voting this November 3:
- Check your voter registration. Now.
- Make a plan to vote. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
If you’re voting in person:
Do you need a ride?
Will you need time off from work?
Do you know where to vote? (If you're not sure, use the link to the voter lookup tool above to find out.)
If you’re voting absentee:
Know the process. By design, absentee voting is a bit more complex than voting in person. That’s part of what makes the process secure.
To vote absentee, you must:
• Fill out an absentee ballot application and return it to Town Hall.
• When you receive the ballot, you must follow the directions carefully, fill out the ballot correctly, and sign the INNER envelope.
• Return the ballot to Town Hall before 8:00 p.m. on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3.
Better yet: Return it right away. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you return your ballot to the secure drop box (located in the rear vestibule of Town Hall) rather than mail it.

2020 Elections & Voting page, and follow Prospect, CT Democrats on Facebook.
And remember to VOTE BLUE across the entire ticket:
Biden-Harris for President
Rosa DeLauro for Congress
EJ Maher for State Representative
Jack Perry for State Senator
